About Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom Teeth usually develop in young adults. Wisdom teeth can present challenges because they can be very difficult to keep clean, can be painful, or there may not be enough room for them in the mouth and they’re therefore highly susceptible to tooth decay, infection, and gum disease.

We also offer sedation options at Mid-Columbia Dental!

What is wisdom teeth removal?

We provide tooth extraction for the wisdom teeth, or third molars. Many times, the wisdom teeth grow in at an angle or become impacted (stuck in the gum tissues and bone structure). Removing the wisdom teeth can prevent serious damage and pain that may otherwise be caused by the wisdom teeth.

We invite you to call or visit our dental office today to learn more about tooth extraction and wisdom teeth removal. We are committed to improving your dental health.

What is tooth extraction?

Tooth extraction is one of the services we provide at Alaska Dental Arts to restore your dental health when you have suffered from dental damage or disease. Tooth extraction involves completely removing a tooth from your smile. Our caring dentist only recommends tooth extraction in Anchorage, Juneau, and North Pole, Alaska, when it is absolutely necessary and is the best available option for improving your dental health.

Do I need tooth extraction?

We may suggest a tooth extraction if a tooth is so badly damaged or decayed that we cannot successfully restore the tooth with a filling, crown, or other type of dental restoration. Extraction may also be recommended if a serious infection has destroyed much of the tooth and bone structure; removing the tooth can help to prevent the infection from spreading to other healthy parts of your mouth.
